I live a wonderful life

I had the most perfect day today.  How often can you say that?  With me, it’s rare.  There’s always something that goes wrong, or someone I yell at, or something that I wanted to get done but didn’t …

Today?  Perfect.  (Okay not perfect, but pretty great.)

I woke up this morning a little groggy, due to the sleeping pills my doctor blessed me with.  At night?  I sleep!  It’s great!  People used to think that I was tired all the time due to my baby getting up all night.  Nope.  She’s been sleeping through the night since she was 12 weeks.  It’s just me.  I would wake up five thousand times during the night, I’d wake up exhausted in the morning, and I’d be exhausted all the live long day.  Those days are over.  I’m in love with the little blue pill.  (Not that little blue pill.  The other one.  The one that knocks you out and makes you sleep like a rock.)

Anyway.

I had Kaylie ready to go earlier than normal, she was at school with plenty of time to spare, and I remembered to do her hair so that she didn’t have to look like a homeless child.  For most of the morning, Liliana and I just chilled.  In sweat pants. She plays so well by herself.  She played the whole morning, with little breaks where I chased her around the house listening to her scream and giggle as she tried to get away.  I love the age she’s at.  It’s pretty much perfect.

Liliana Day

While we watched the 90210 episode I taped last night Baby Einstein, Lili and I snacked on Corn Twists.  They’re her new favorite thing to eat.

(Yes, she has bruises on her head.  They’re from her bed.  She keeps head-butting the head board.  She’s a strange child.)

Liliana Day

I’ve started giving her a little bowl with her snacks in it.  Usually I just sit her in her high chair and put the snacks on her tray, but she’s been getting pretty good with the whole food being in a container thing.  She even cleans up after herself when she spills.

Liliana Day

It’s both wonderful and hilarious.

Liliana Day

She also took the time to push all the books on the bookshelf to the back.  I like to line them all up at the front, so that they’re flush with the shelf, but Liliana doesn’t think that’s such a good idea.  Apparently.

Liliana Day

The best toys are in the bottom of the toy bin.  Did you know that?

Adding to my great day today, Liliana napped this afternoon!  Wheee!  I decided to give up on the morning nap.  It had been dying anyway.  So, she played away for the morning, and I put her down for a nap after lunch.  It took her a bit to settle in, but then when I checked on her after a bit, she was sleeping.  Sleeping!  I had to wake her up to pick up Kaylie, and she was none to impressed about that.  After school, the kids and I got slurpies, watched a movie, and made dinner.

Tonight, I got a babysitter for Liliana and took Kaylie to a weekly kids program at our church that was having it’s kick-off tonight.  She was a bit nervous to go because she didn’t know anyone, but by the time I picked her up, she did not want to leave.  While Kaylie was there, I went across the street to a church small group that was also having it’s kick-off meeting tonight.

I love church small groups.  It’s such a great way to get to know people better.  Our church is so huge, that it’s hard to connect with people on a Sunday morning.  The small group setting makes it so much easier.  The group of people that I got put with are amazing.  There’s only eight of us (so far), but I’m already looking forward to next week.

I’m a people person.  I’m a lot happier when I’ve had some interaction.  It’s just how I work.  Noah is completely opposite.  I swear he’d live a stellar life if he was home all day long watching sports and playing with his kids.  The dude doesn’t need other people, but I do.  Apparently opposites do attract.

I got home, talked with the babysitter for a bit, drove her home a couple minutes later when Noah got home, and then had dinner finally.

Okay, so I’m a bit long winded, I’m just in a good mood.  Happy.

Story time with Big Papi

Tomorrow this guy is coming to have lunch with Noah, Liliana and me.  (Kaylie will be at school.)  I’m hoping that tomorrow is a lot like today.  If so, I’ll be a happy girl.

Glad you had such a wonderful day!

And, how are you liking 90210? I totally forgot to watch it this week, but caught the premiere last week. It’s pretty entertaining.

I’m a people person as well, and DH isn’t as much. If I can get him out he does well, but to get him out is another thing. He’s very content to sit on the couch and watch the tv.
It can be a little frustrating.
I hate admitting this but I have been “casually” watching the new 90210 as well…shhhh…don’t tell!
