Kaylie & Liliana’s Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day

This morning started out bloody.

Kaylie and I were getting ready to head to school and work. I was upstairs brushing my teeth when I heard an ear piercing scream come from Kaylie. This is not a normal occurrence, and having lived with her for six and a half years, I know her “owie cry”.

I came running down the stairs and was informed that she had hit her face on the stairs while bouncing with Liliana. I looked in her mouth for blood but did not see any. Thirty seconds later I looked again and blood was gushing from her tongue. She had bitten right through it.

I cuddled on the couch with her for a few minutes, checking her tongue frequently to see if the bleeding had stopped. I gave her some drugs for the pain and we were off. She was late for school for the first time all year (I think).

Around 11:00 a.m., I got a call from Noah. The school had called and said that Kaylie did not feel well (which has never happened before). I went to investigate and Kaylie said that she did not feel well but did not want to leave school. I asked her teacher if she could stay inside at lunch hour and went back to work.

When I picked her up, she informed me that she had fallen from the loft in her classroom during lunch hour and she had lost a tooth. I don’t think the two were related though.

This evening, Liliana screamed for a good hour and a half. This is also not a regular occurance. She screams a lot, but it’s most always happy screaming. This was not. Her cheeks were bright red and she was completely inconsolable. Noah and I tried to comfort her the best we could, but quiet was hard to come by. I finally drugged her and she settled down shortly after that. She also bit a hole in one of her teething rings in the inconsolable process. That stuff isn’t toxic, is it?

Both the kids are now finally sleeping. I really hope they stay that way all night long. If I don’t hear from them until 8:00 a.m. I’ll be a happy mommy.

I’m sorry I have no pictures for you today. Between all the drama there was no time for photography. Shocking, I know. I’m hoping, for my kids’ sake, that tomorrow is not a terrible horrible no good very bad day. I also hope the tooth fairy remembers to give Kaylie money tonight. She forgot last time. Bad tooth fairy.

Did the tooth fairy remember to come???
Hehe, sometimes, there are just VERY BUSY nights for the tooth fairy, and she can’t quite make it everywhere. She’s not QUITE as powerful as Santa Claus, you know!
