NaBloPoMo Day 17: random bits of links and stuff
November 17, 2008
At the moment, my house has a lot of clutter. I despise clutter.
My friend Laura from I’m an Organizing Junkie has a gift. She can find an attractive way to organize anything. (And yes, Russ, when I say “friend”, I know her in real life.) I searched “clutter” on her site and came up with a diamond mine of tips. I’ve seen her in action at Ann’s place, and the lady is genius. You should visit her.
We have way too much clutter around our house and it’s driving me insane. With three 12-18 month old babies around who love to get into it all, I’ve got to tackle it NOW. As in right now. As in that’s what I’m doing tonight. Yay me. According to Laura, everything must have a home, and if it does not, then either a home has to be made, or it has to go. I’m hoping for a lot of it has to go.

I have just discovered the The Pioneer Woman’s Photography blog. WHY HAS NO ONE TOLD ME ABOUT THIS BEFORE? I had tea at Starbucks with Laurie yesterday (yes tea, I’m sick) and she was talking about it. Oh. My. Word. I love it.
I visit TPW’s Homeschooling blog every Monday, more because I’m a big OMSH fan (she guest posts on Mondays) than a homeschooling fan (although she makes it look like so much fun), but for some reason I never noticed the little Photography tab. My bad.
I spent about an hour after the kids went to bed yesterday looking through older posts. Wow. I’m always excited when I stumble on another photography blog, and this one is definitely worth the read. My short term goal? To shoot the moon.

I finally went through all our winter gear and found a hat, mitts, and scarf for Noah and I. The kids have been wearing theirs for a couple weeks now, but Noah and I are too cool have not. I stumbled upon this brown beanie that I got from Bethany Actually’s Etsy Shop last year. It’s a perfect it’s-not-snowing-yet-but-I’m-freezing hat. Eye yike it.
I had a crazy day with the babies today, so Noah and I, being the awesome parents that we are, took our kids to McDonald’s for dinner so that I didn’t have to cook. Noah was getting Liliana (the everything is “no” baby) out of the vehicle when I overheard the two of them.
Do you want to go to McDonald’s Liliana?
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
I guess you had to be there, but I thought it was funny.
It was pretty much bedtime by the time we were done dinner and groceries, so the kids got their pajamas on as soon as we got home. And then this moment occurred.
The photo quality isn’t that great (I prefer natural light), but I love what it captures. I love seeing Kaylie and Liliana act as if they’re best buds. It’s rare for the two of them to be sitting together, as Liliana just does not stop moving. I hope they continue in this reading together business. Both girls are total book worms.

Thanks to everyone who voted in our little poll yesterday. Turns out I won. HA! Turns out Noah will just have to settle with what I get him. He’s okay with that, as he didn’t think I’d go for the other idea anyway.
I’ve already purchased a small part of his Christmas present, and I doubt it’s on his list. I told him so. It’s driving him crazy.
Let the games begin!

Ahh girl sure wish I was there to help you. Can’t wait to hear how you make out!!
Thanks for the linkage! The hat looks smashing on you, daaaaahlink! I love the photo of you and Kaylie.

Thanks for the links- I can’t wait to check out the organizing one. I definitely need a little guidance in that area.
We had Laura write a guest post for Problem Solved! I didn’t know she was a friend of yours :)
Here is where I confess that I stopped reading TPW a long time ago. I got tired of all of the horse and cow photos…
