NaBloPoMo Day 21: A friend for Noah

Anyone who knows Noah knows of his dislike of people. He just doesn’t like them. He’s very friendly, and would be nice to you if he met you, but as a rule, he just doesn’t like people.

When we still lived in Terrace, I’d suggest people (couples) to have over, and he’d always veto them. He’d come up with some excuse as to why we shouldn’t have them over. I eventually just stopped asking and just hung out with the womenfolk.

When we moved here, I tried the same thing. I’d met a couple girls that I really liked and told Noah that we (as in our family) should hang out with them some time. Um, didn’t happen. He said that I had to find some friend whose husband was a sports addict like him, and then he’d think about it.

Tonight I found something just as good.

I went out with Jen, Kelle, and Tiffany for a girl’s night (which was FABULOUS, thanks girls!). I said something about Anberlin being here in January and after a little conversing found out that Jordan (Jen’s husband) (I love her) (such a sweetheart and so much fun) has the same taste in music as Noah does.  Gotcha!

(Side note: we love Anberlin. We saw them here in Regina when we were attending Briercrest, and then again on our honeymoon in San Diego. We also had their song Time and Confusion play as we walked up the aisle as husband and wife.)

Jen and I joked about setting Jordan and Noah up on a blind date and buying them each a ticket to the show.  They’d probably find it creepy since they haven’t met each other yet and both found it creepy when Jen and I met, having only corresponded on our blogs.  Men.

I texted Noah right away.  Hey!  We can have COUPLE friends!  Finally!  Wheeeeeeeee!

Is this just a woman thing?  Where we aren’t satisfied with hanging out with just the ladies and want to drag bring the men along as well once in a while?  No?  Just me?

I’m so thankful for the blog-friends-turned-real-life-friends that I’ve met here.  They are some amazing women.  And tonight?  I really needed it.  It’s been a long week with the babies, and it was nice to get out and talk to adults about things other than Cheerios and poop.  It was so refreshing.  And I really like those girls.

When I got home and shared my doggy bag with Noah, he confessed something to me.  When he reads the comments on my blog, he sometimes clicks on the links and visits the blogs of the commenters (he reads Dutch Blitz!).  I may convert him after all.  Mr. People-Hater might actually start liking people and have friends.

A girl can dream.

ps. My editor (aka Noah) says that this post is terrible and is written by a girl who does not love her husband.  Well I have news for you dear!  I love you very much.  So much in fact, that I find new and improved ways to drive you insane.  You’re welcome.

Sometimes I think I should have my own blog, on which I would share the truth.

Hahaha, awesome. That’s just how some men are, Jason is sort of like that too. They aren’t as comfortable with their feelings. But get this, I saw your husband not once but twice at Sobeys, isn’t that weird? I recognized him from your blog posts… better tell him, it will really creep him out. Next time I’m going to say “Hi, I know your wife from the internet.” LOL.
