Pitch Black

I am scared of the dark. Deathly scared.

This morning I was walking to my 6:30 am Bible study which was half a block away. Why drive? I thought to myself. I figured it would be stupid to drive half a block.

As I was about half way there thinking of the serial killers who walk around at 6:30 am looking for crazy people, I noticed a man (or was it a woman? I couldn’t tell) who was sauntering down the street at a very slow pace looking for his (her?) next victim.

I had my umbrella up and I was walking at a fast pace. I walked faster. A couple steps later I took down my umbrella and started running. Umbrella in one hand, Bible in the other. I must have been quite the sight.

As I was leaving, I told a friend of mine that she was driving me home. I didn’t tell her of my adventure on the way there, instead we talked about how her husband didn’t have any clean underwear and mine didn’t have any clean socks because we hadn’t done laundry in a while.

I am scared of the dark. I check in my closet, I look under my bed, I like lights. I am a crazy person.

I’m so glad I’m not the only pansy! In our old house I’d make Noah come to the basement with me when I changed over the laundry!

I’m not alone!!! I’m deathly afraid of the dark. When I still lived at home & woke up in the middle of the night to pee I would flip on my bedroom light, flip on the hallway light and then dash into the bathroom @ slam the door (and of course have turned on the light) all within 2.8 seconds.
The dark freaks me right out.

Oh, and you’re my hero.. up & out of the house @ 6:30??

Yea, but I had no kids with me … it’s easier that way!
