schooled

I just dropped Liliana off at her first without-me day at preschool. As we were walking up to the school, she was walking ahead of me, with a lady who was walking with her two kids, one of whom was in a wheelchair. Liliana was telling the lady that her daughters were Liliana’s friends. I love that she’s so outgoing. Any kids she sees are automatically friends of hers.

She walked into the classroom, I said bye, and that was it. I think my kids have attachment issues.

I now get to have one-on-one time with Preston a couple mornings a week. Because of my kids’ age gaps, I’ve gotten to have a lot of one-on-one time with each of them as infants and I love that. We’re off to do groceries, just the two of us. I’m not sure what we’re going to do with all the silence.

  1. Awwww. She’s so cute!
You know – a mark of good attachment is that kids are okay with being away from you for a while because they know you’re coming back. :)

  2. What a perfect picture! I bet she is really fun for the teacher, and I mean that in a good way. :)

  3. Exactly what Sonja said – that’s a sign of great attachment. But were you you being sarcastic a bit, perhaps? :)
I’ll be having the same one-on-one with my little when my big boys are gone full-day. We’ll just be a few weeks behind because we’re moving end of the month. I’m super sad today because I know all their friends are reuniting at their “old” school without them. But that’s life, I’m trying to remember the big picture!
