the sound of silence

But without the silence.

Noah and I are heading to the symphony tonight, as Noah has been wanting to go for quite a while and we just received some free tickets. Noah was explaining to Liliana that Big Papi and Miss Sue are coming tonight to take care of her and Preston and Kaylie. She’s very excited to see her grandparents, especially as she missed her regular Thursday night date with them due to being sick, but she’s also quite sensitive because of being sick.

L: “But I don’t want my parents to leave!”
N: “Well, sometimes parents need to get out together.”
L: “Like Peter Parker and Mary Jane? They go out on dates.”
N: “Yes, like Peter Parker and Mary Jane.”
L: “It’s just hard being a really big sister.”

Maybe she needs to call Grannie and tell her about her bad life. (Did I tell you that story? How I was talking to my mom and asked Liliana if she wanted to talk and she said, “Yes, then I can tell Grannie about my bad life.” We have been using the term bad life ever since. Just like the phrase You just don’t get my life. I don’t know what I’d do for blog fodder if it was not for my Liliana.)

Anyway, the purpose of this post was to catch up on photos. Lazy iPhone photos, because winter means I rarely pick up my big camera in the winter. But, in my opinion, camera phone photos are better than no photos.

This is turning into The Preston Show, isn’t it? I just spend the most time with him, since the girls are at school for half and most of the day. I have the need to defend myself that I don’t have a favorite. (Although I tell each one that he/she is my favorite, and not to tell the others.)

And a video of after-school shenanigans, because as much as the girls like their TV shows, they like seeing videos of themselves much better. And so does Preston.

Yes, I sound like a 12-year-old. Yes, we have cardboard over our book shelf and video game consoles, and tape over the chest drawers. Yes, there is (clean, unfolded) laundry taking up an entire couch.

I hope y’all have a good (sickness-free) weekend.

  3. Have you seen the multi lens for the iPhone? My boss just got one last week from the Apple store. It does several things (i.e., wide angle, macro, etc.,) and just slips over your iPhone lens. I think she said it was $75.

  4. I hope you guys have a GREAT date night out!

  5. “Mommy, Kaylie’s not listening to me!” Hehehe siblings who don’t listen, what would we do without them? (I’m a “former” bossy big sister, and a mom with a bossy child).
